My name is George Maxwell, and I am a Coaching Psychologist and Life coach. I specialise in supporting people to make transformational changes in their physical and psychological wellbeing, which leads to progress in areas of career, family, relationships and spirituality.

I’ve been coaching people to make life-affirming changes since 2017. As a coaching psychologist life coach, I use a range of evidence-based psychological techniques to keep you motivated, focused, and anchored in the direction that you want to take your life.

Beginning my helping journey as a CBT therapist way back in 2006, I have helped countless people to overcome the challenges of life and improve their wellbeing. Since training as a coach, and also completing a Masters in Positive Psychology, I now offer a range of techniques to my coaching clients, depending on their specific needs.

My approach to coaching includes:

Cognitive Behavioural Coaching,
Acceptance and Commitment Coaching,
The “GROW” model of performance coaching,
EMDR-based performance coaching,
Mindfulness & Character strengths practice,
Self-Determination Theory

I can coach you on broad topics. That is, if you feel stuck and you know something needs to change, but are not quite sure where to start. I can help you with that.

If there is something more specific; you know what you want, but have found it difficult to take the steps needed, or have self-sabotaged along the way. We can use the above psychological approaches to formulate your challenge, and tailor a course of coaching to get you to where you want to be.

Lastly, I do have areas of specialism. I specialise in helping people to transform their physical and emotional wellbeing in the specific context of middle age (the midlife crisis), becoming a parent (especially new dads), and making a career change.
